Ridgeline Maps ("we," "us") is a cartography studio in Edwards, Colorado. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit ridgelinemaps.com and maps.ridgelinemaps.com, buy a print, or contact us, and what we do with it.

Information we collect

When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number if you give one. Payment card details are entered into our payment processor's secure checkout. We never see or store your full card number.

When you contact us or request a custom map: your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message.

When you sign up for our newsletter: your email address.

Automatically, when you browse: like most websites, we and our service providers collect basic technical information such as your browser type, device, approximate location (from your IP address), the pages you visit, and how you arrived. This is collected with cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies, analytics and advertising" below).

How we use it

  • To process, print, ship, and support your orders

  • To reply to messages and work on custom map commissions

  • To send our newsletter, if you signed up (every email has an unsubscribe link)

  • To understand how the site is used and improve it

  • To keep the site and store secure and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the companies that help us run the business, and only what they need:

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website, store, checkout, and newsletter

  • Squarespace Payments, PayPal, and Square, which process payments (online card payments, PayPal and Venmo checkout, and in-person sales)

  • Lumaprints, which prints and ships our maps and receives your name and shipping address to do so

  • Shipping carriers, which deliver your order

  • Google, which provides site analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising on maps.ridgelinemaps.com (Google AdSense)

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them to keep your shopping cart working, remember preferences, and measure site traffic with Google Analytics.

Our interactive maps at maps.ridgelinemaps.com show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

How long we keep it

We keep order records as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes. We keep messages and newsletter sign-ups until they are no longer needed or you ask us to delete them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time. Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, or the European Union), you may have additional rights under local law. Email us and we will respond within the time the law requires.

Children

Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
